In a year when the City of Houston just imposed a 33% increase into our water bill, we are now faced with a new tax of an undetermined amount of money
METRO owes the city HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in UNPAID General Mobility Funds for this very purpose.
1. George Greanias, the CEO of METRO, has testified that his organization DID NOT COMMIT TO REPAY this obligation so that the ReNew Houston tax would not need to be implemented.
2. METRO is currently TEN YEARS BEHIND IN FUNDING and has not kept up with their General Mobility payments owed to the City of Houston specifically for 'Street and Storm Drain Improvements'.
